Default value 1995's

Went to Kelly Blue Book:

First:
1995 2d base coupe "Good" condition....$4,500
1995 2d ZR1 coupe "Good" Condition....$19,000

Do these numbers seem correct?

Second:
1996 Collectors edition and Grand Sport, are these just cosmetic packages or are there performance modifications?

Thanks.

1. A little low, they (LT-1's) are all over out west under $6k....and not selling. Of course it depends upon your definition of good condition.

2. Yep, they are just cosmetic packages (ok, the GS's have 11 inch rear tires).

Actually, that is not true. The GS's and commemorative editions had LT4 engines with 330 horsepower instead of the LT1's 300, and only came with a six speed manual. The GS has some really big tires on it with special black five spoke rims. You can see the fender extender flares on the GS. The commemorative edition also had five spokes but they weren't black and not as wide. A 96 coupe with a LT4 is a very sweet ride, and one that can be had very reasonably.

No, the LT4 was an option on the CE, as well as any 96 vette. Sweet rides though....both of them

PS - The differences between "Good" and "Excellent" were less than 10%, nothing to suggest the really low values from the OP.

Thanks.
I just checked KBB online and got very different numbers:

1995 ZR-1 - sale to private party (assuming 6500 miles which my 95 ZR-1 has) - $49,715, trade in to dealer - $46,581

1995 Coupe - (assuming 70K miles which seems reasonable for most base 95s) - Trade-in value - $7,538, Private Party - to $8,674 for a car in excellent condition

The commemorative edition could be had with the LT1 (automatic trans), or the optional LT4 (manual trans).
They were not all LT4's.

The GS as you mention was an LT4 only car.

No need to get the CE or GS in order to get the LT4

Please correct me if I am wrong but if memory serves;

In 1996, Grand Sports were only available with LT4. Collector Editions as well as all 96 models were available with LT4 or LT1.

All LT4's were labeled Grand Sport on the intake.

All LT4's came with 6 speed manual. All LT1's came with automatic.

To my knowledge there were no exceptions.

96 Grand Sport Coupe
(unique to GS)
1. Unique sequential VIN number
2. Rear fender flares
3. Black A molds (11 rear/9.5 front)
4. Admiral Blue paint w/white center strip and red hash marks
5. Embroidered head rests
6. Black or red leather

96 Grand Sport vert
(unique to GS)
1. Unique sequential VIN number
2. Black A molds (9.5 rear/8.5 front)
3. Admiral Blue paint w/white center strip and red hash marks
4. Embroidered head rests
5. Black or red interior
6. Black or white top

96 Collector Edition Coupe
(Unique to CE)
1. Silver A molds (9.5 rear/8.5 front)
2. Silver paint
3. Embroidered head rests
4. Black or red interior
5. CE hood/side and fuel door emblems

96 Collector Edition Vert
(Unique to CE)
1. Silver A molds (9.5 rear/8.5 front)
2. Silver paint
3. Embroidered head rests
4. Black or red interior
5. CE hood/side and fuel door emblems
6. Black top

I was offered $15,000 this year and two years ago for my 95 and turned it down both times. I paid $10,000 6 years ago and have put more than $5,000 into it, I would break even and what but a C5 ? I don't think so.

Thanks.
Definition of cosmetic packages vary a lot. It is true that all Grand Sports had the LT4 engine. But the LT4 could be ordered on any (non-auto) 96. So you could order a base coupe identical in performance to a GS (except the tire, as noted earlier). In my opinion, they are cosmetic packages. What's your opinion.
