Default Wheel choices

I have future plans to change the wheels on my 1996 LT4. Can anyone tell me what the maximum wheel size you can run is? I'm torn about going with the 17" or the 18/19" wheels.

If anyone has custom wheels on their C4, can I see a picture of them? Thanks all.

Oops, it is a 1996 LT4. The car currently has the saw blade wheels. I'm trying to give it a more aggressive look. Looking to purchase the rims sometime next Spring.

18s look fine on a C4. 19s get a little iffy. 20s look ghetto.

Thanks Guys. I like the rims on your car GKK. Now I just need to find something that I like. It's amazing how much difference Rims make on a car.

When you do go to a bigger diameter. You should lower your C4. Just jack your car up an inch or 2 and see what it looks likes the space between the tire and the rim and the space you create below the car. It ends up looking a little funny.

I will try that if I end up going with a bigger wheel. Wonder how far off it makes the speedometer?

The 285/30/19 tires on my 91 Vette are 1.8mm taller than the original 275/40/17 tires but, the speedometer shows about the same speed according to my GPS.

Here is an example of 20" staggered wheels on my Lowered 95. fronts are 20x8.5" and the rears are 20x10.5". running 245-35 up front and 275-30 rear.

With 373 gears and the rims my speedo is fast by 8-10 mph at 70.

My ZR-1 gained less than a 1/2" more ground clearance by going from 17" to 19" wheels. The stock front 275/40/17 tires were 25.7" tall and the new 275/35/19's are 26.5". The stock rear 315/35/17's were also 25.7" tall and the new 335/30/19's are 26.6".
With stock 17" A-Molds & Goodyear F1's:

19" CCW's & Nitto NT05's at stock ride height:

19" CCW's & Nitto NT05's at lower ride height:

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't get an email telling me there was any replies. I really appreciate the information and will take into mind what you have told me regarding different then stock rims.

I swapped the sawblades on my 92 for a set of polished aluminum ZR1 replicas from CF vendor DOCZ at OEWheels.

Front are 17x9.5 and the rears are 17x11.
Tires are Nitto NT05's in 275 front and 315 rear.

Wow! You guys have some nice looking C4s. One question about lowering the car, Can you still use coil overs? Do you scrape going into parking lots?

I would love to lower mine a little (especially in the rear), but I scrape my front air dam in my driveway now if I'm not really careful and go slow.
If I lowered it, I wouldn't be able to negotiate my driveway at all.

That's my concern as well. I have some time so I'm going to research how low you can go without scraping.

Take a look at my profile photo.
Unless I am really careful, I scrape the air dam at the transition between the driveway and the sidewalk now.

If you lowered the rear a bit, wouldn't it raise the air dam a bit?
