My driver seat on my 1984 is a mess, its cloth, and cannot find a similar replacement. Choices are leather or vinyl .Does anyone know if Vinyl is durable. Or is it best to bite the bullet and pursue leather. I know there has to be a significant price difference. If anyone has some good suggestions I am all ears.

These are just slip covers but they might be what you are look for on a budget.

I bought new cushions and leather for my 1993 and 1994 converts.

I have done upholstery on collector cars for 25 years. Leather should be much more durable than vinyl. If the other seat is good and you want to keep it like stock then go to a good upholstery shop, preferably one that does collector cars. They should be able to get material that would be a perfect match for the original when it was new.
Vinyl would be cheaper than matching cloth and leather would be more expensive than the cloth.
