Default Heater Controls Not Working

Just picked up a 1993 c4 and I noticed that the off button and the two next to it to the right stopped working. I cant regulate the temp in the car it seems to be stuck on 90 degrees. Any suggestions. I did see a youtube video on how to scan codes. Anybody ever have this issue.

Thanks

I know it sounds goofy, but sometimes just pushing all the buttons one at a time aggressively fixes it.

Do a search in general discussion for "climate control repair" there is video on how the take apart the unit and clean the contacts which is usually the problem.

I had the same problem. After cleaning the control head everything worked perfectly. Whole operation took less than an hour from start to finish.

This is the thread you want.

I had the same problem on my '94. I cleaned the contacts (under an hour too) and from then on it worked perfectly.

Good luck

It actually worked today. I took someone advise last night and they said aggressively tap all the buttons and it started working. I'm sure it is the contacts in the end. Does anyone think if i just spray some solution in the buttons that would help. Or do i have to take it all apart just would hate to do all that if not needed.

Thanks

It is under an hour and no cost to fix it. Why mess with band aids forever?

True only asking because I watched a video last night and it looked pretty intricate taking it all apart once it was removed from the dash.
I guess I was a little intimidated

Just take your time. It is not hard and best of all, it works.

You need to do the repair.

Mine was this way too. It would work some days, but not others. Fix it before you really need to use the defroster (and it won't work)!

Mine was that way also. It would work most of the time, but the times it wouldn't became more frequent.
It has worked 100% of the time, every time since I did the repair
