Default Testing ignition module

I have and 84 crossfire with a no start condition. No codes and no spark or fuel. Pump is working. I think I narrowed my problem down to the ignition moldue. i was told auto zone can test these but they said my 84 was to old to test. I was told you can test these with a meter. Anyone have instruction how such a test can be performed?

Unplug the connector that goes from the distributor base to the cap. The two wires on each end of that connector are what you will be working with. Hook each side of a test light to those wires and crank it over. If it flashes the ignition module is breaking the circuit for the coil. You can remove the cap and test right on the terminals of the ignition module to eliminate the possibility of bad wires. The ECM needs to see a DRP (Distributor Reference Pulse) to pulse the injectors. The DRP comes from the pick up coil, and I believe goes through the ignition module and then to the ECM if I recall correctly.
