Default wheel offset??

I have searched the database and cannot find an older post that addresses this specific issue.

I have a 1995 corvette base model and I found a set of wheels I really like that should work with the stock tires. The specs are... 17x8.5 5x4.75 with a +6mm offset. What type of adapter/spacer will I need to make these work on my vehicle safely??

I believe the stock speck for my year model is 17x8.5 and 17x9.5 with a 56mm offset. I have looked at multiple Wheel calculators and I guess I'm too thick to understand what it is telling me. Thank you in advance for any and all information.

..... Wheels with a +6mm offset will stick out of your wheelwells about 2" ... there is no adapter that will reduce that dimension ............

Yikes ... So that is simply not going to work. That is unfortunate. This may be a dumb question but what range of offset will work on my vehicle without an adapter? only +56??

Wheel width will have considerable to do with an offset that will work. Shop for wheels that are +50 to +60 maybe if you're shopping 9" - 10" wheels. Don't buy anything until you ask.

Yes those +6 would have been nearly 2" to much.

Thank you both very much for the information. I found that same set of wheels with an offset of +26mm. I am guessing that these will not work either. In order to use the 245/45/17 tires that I currently have on my car, I do not think that I can go any wider than 8.5. Could be wrong here too. That being said, shall I still look in that +50 to +60 range? Thanks again!

245's or 255's?

Using the +26 offset @ 8.5 would move the tire/wheel outboard 30mm. That's on the front.

What do you have for wheels/tires on the rear?
