Replacing 84 with 85 dash display

Replacing 84 with 85 dash display
Is it possible to replace the 84 display with a the 85 which has better improved graphics. Are the wire harnesses the same . Would the MPH, fuel, tach, op, temp readings be affected?

If the newer clusters will in fact work , why go with the 85 cluster??...It's a known fact the best cluster was the 89 cluster..These were the last ones made and had all the bugs worked out which means less problems....
