Thanks for all the replies.
The Fiat lights is what I wish I could do, but cannot easily locate them, and do not want to deal with overseas shipping from some random guy on a forum. If anyone has a US source let me know.
I want the lights to bubble up, like the c5 LeMans lights, not be flat.
I'm sure if I threw money at this I could come up with a great solution, but I'm not putting $1200 in lighting + fab work + paint into a $3k car! ;-)
