I don't understand this thread. I just bought new tires for my 88 verte. which I try to keep pristine. 102k on the clock and body, paint, and interior is mint. Then someone wants to know do I smoke my tires? First of all, what will I achieve by smoking my tires? Will it help with my fuel economy? Do I prove anything? Does it make me a better driver? Can someone PLEASE explain to me the thinking behind all of this "smoking my tires" thread?

It's just to have a little extra fun with our cars
I hope you are done talking because i'm done listening. You are so full of yourself you don't know you are insulting someone.
this means you are calling me crazy.
Means you are calling me a cry baby.
Do yourself a favor and STFU.
Once AGAIN you come back with yet more jabs at me. Give it up man! It's making you sound like a real -------. Notice the empty blanks. Don't want you to think I was calling you a name. From here on in, please stay on the topic of the original post before you get yourself banned or get the original post closed. It's good to hear from others points of view on burnouts and not all your shots at me. As far as what I think, It's still strange. Notice this time I didn't say "stupid" so you can FINALLY move on. Have a nice day!

ok, 383vette...please tell/post the specs of your vette, year, engine, trans, b/c that vid was impressive. i've never owned a car that could do this. a week ago, i got to ride in and check out an 85 vette that the engine sounded like yours. i mean, we were burning rubber 1/2 way down the street, and honestly i was scared riding in it. this 85 vette has this engine: "406ci sbc with a solid roller cam and dart aluminum heads with a fully built bottom end from eagle performance"...
i guess in the end, i wouldn't want to have to replace tires every week or so, but i guess when i see this stuff, and hearing the engines, i'm impressed...

Big wild stuff under Willie hood...his car it is a track car,but you can have a strong engine capable of burnin' down the street 100 feet of pure rubber and still have a nice car to use around town.Big displacement engines with a mild cam can give you tons of low end torque (read= ability to make massive burn out). That C4 was too radical and rough ,i would like a sleeper for you,a good unmolested C4 with fresh interior an AC (read = a happy wife ) but powered by a good 383...

Car is meant to be driven properly. Not pampered and living on a trailer
I don't burn em till my tires are worn out, or when it's time to replace them (which ever comes first) then it's time to smoke up the parking lot
