WOW! Got the Michelin XGT Z4's put on yesterday. What a difference the ride is sooooo smooth and quiet. The old tires must of been hard as a rock from age and they were getting worn down. Only got to try them for about half a day riding around town running errands.
Then BANG! Left work and on my way to my girlfriends house pulled out from a traffic light and all h_ll broke loose from under the car. Had to have it flatbedded to my buddies garage. Looks like the tranny let loose but they said they would know more after they look at it tomorrow.
I can really sympathize with Flyinace2000's problems. Most of my repairs have been minor so far but it looks like I'm into some major ones now. Tires can be expected they were fair when I bought the car but now it needs exhaust from cat back and what ever let loose in the drivetrain. May have to go to the bank and get a, broken toy, repair loan!!!!!!!!! They have that kind of loan right?
Great weather to drive her and she's sitting in the repair garage. That frosts me more than paying for the repairs. Crap. :mad

Hope it's something minor. Try AAMCO. I had a Jeep CJ-5 and they did wonders with it and the price was reasonable!
i feel for ya, mine just did the same thing, only i still have drive capability, funny thing is it did it while pulling OUT of an AAMCO.
Look in your yellow pages for Trans repair shops, and ONLY use the ones that are ATRA shops, or if your gonna di it yourself try this link

I had a local shop do a complete trans rebuild on my Q45 last year. New valves, planetary, torque converter with the vanes welded, kevlar clutches, the works. Cost $2800 but I didn't want them to fix only one problem only to have something else fail this year.
Oh yeah, I had them refill with Redline Synthetic ATF. I'm going to switch the Vette over to synthetic before winter.
Good Luck
