I was trying to time my car and I noticed a few wires cut on the firewall near the passenger side of the distributor. Its in the wiring harness and looks like it might go to the esc module....What am I up against here?

seems you're up against a bunch of guys who you just blind folded turned out the lights and then asked them what time the clock on the walls says . . . . .

Apparently your definition of "cut" is different than mine. To me, cut means that the connection is broken and two ends of the wire are hanging out without touching. I didn't see anything that looked like that in your picture.
Your picture might be a little too close. It's hard to see how these wires relate to the rest of the engine compartment.

these guys are all very nice and helpful. try again with that picture, maybe 2 or 3, and use your hands to bend out the "cut wires".
and provide a shot a bit backed out for reference.

can't tell a whole lot from this photo, you need to back away a bit and get the complete area, then move in taking a few more by stages...
but it almost appears that something came loose and tore through those wires... ???
after you take a few more photo's, unwrap that black tape/wrapping on the hose (?) on the right side of your photo and let's see what is under there.
