Default LT-4 Question

I know that all LT-4s came with a 6 speed stick. Other than that, did LT-4s come as part of a "package" or was it an engine that could be ordered with any '96 as long as it was a stick?

If it was a 96 6speed it was a LT-4, if it was an auto it was a LT-1. Then there was the GS which had the LT-4 and a 6 speed. Hope this helps you .

It wasn't a "package". It was an engine option only.
The LT4 engine option "required" you to also order the 6-speed manual.
They were together, you couldn't get one without the other.

And yes, you could get the LT4 engine option on any '96.

And as kimmer noted, the GS only came with the LT4

Some believe that the Collector Edition only had the LT4 too.
But, you could get that model in either LT1 (automatic) or LT4 (manual).

No

That was a suspension option. Had nothing to do with being an LT4.
You could get that option on either engine.

My LT4 has the base suspension.

You had 3 different suspension options.

1. FE1 base suspension

2. FX3 adjustable

3. Z51 stiffer performance

I've always thought Keith had the right idea for a GS...

FX3 was not available in 1996. It was replaced by F45. Same concept, different type of shock and control system.
