For Ruby Owners:
I just replaced the ruby red center caps on my
wheels, as mine were getting pretty rough. If
you plan such a restoration, you can save a
bunch getting them through Jeff Kopp. He
wanted $25 ea. while the catalogs want $40 ea.

Thanks for the tip. I just purchased one from the dealer for $37 which is cheaper than shown in the vette catalogs. My ruby convertible was driven by the dealer for the first 8K miles as his personal car, and along the way he experienced a flat tire. The idiot that changed the tire all but destroyed the plastic tabs which hold the cap in place. A good fix, if you don't want to absorb the cost of a new cap, is just attach it with epoxy. My cap has stayed in place for 35K miles over 7 years. :cheers:

Great...thanks for the heads-up on that. :yesnod: I think of Jeff for mechanical things (just bought an Opti and water pump from him) but would not have thought of him for such cosmetic things. The vendor prices are :crazy:...$38.00 for a piece of plastic :rolleyes: .
