Hi, I'm trying to find out does anyone know of a place that rebuilds the c68 programmer on a 1989 corvette. I'm not so good with a soldering iron and don't want to end up messing it up completely. The problem I'm having, although I can change vents positions from floor to dash registers, then to defrost, is there seems to be quite alot of air that comes out of defrost no matter if I have it on floor, or dash registers. During the summer when I have the a/c on and blowing out from the dash registers, the windshield fogs up from the cold air blowing on the windshield. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

In all likelihood your controller is fine. By your description, odds are the foam seal on the defroster door is deteriorated and no longer making a tight seal, allowing air to leak by, and hence, causing that condensation spot right where you look out. My '87 does exactly the same thing. It would be a pistol of a job to replace. I removed the dash bezels and verified the problem...as well as verified how involved replacing the entire seal would be. My fix? I place a wooden paint stirrer (painted black) over the defroster vent in the summer to keep the condensation off of the glass. I trimmed the length slightly, and width-wise is fits perfectly. It's not noticeable, and believe it or not, works great...spot be gone!

That makes sense. I'll have to try the paint stirrer. Thanks for your help. Do you know of any where that does a complete check/rebuild of the programmer if at any time mine goes south and stops working? I found a couple on flebay but will probably need work on those also.

Check out Bryan A. Thompson's web site:

http://www.batee.com

He has information about the HVAC programmer at the bottom of the web page.
