Default Converting C4 to C6 Auto Shifter

Late model C6 shifter has a more ergonomic and up to date style shift ****. Parts are relatively easy to get and reasonably priced so I was interested to see if someone has it installed

Thanks for any replies

The C4 or 700R4 trans can be rebuilt to be pretty stout for a reasonable price. If you put he C6 trans in, what are you trying to achieve? Will the trans need a stand alone computer to make it work? What will you be willing to pay?

The Op is asking about installing a C6 shifter "****" in a C4 Vette not, installing the entire C6 transmission...

To the OP - Is this a manual or auto shift ****?...The C4 manual shift **** is secured with a metal wedge on top and the C6 manual shift **** is secured with a screw on the bottom left side.

The 2005 C6 auto shift **** has a similar look to the C4 auto shift **** but, not sure if it's secured the same way with a snap ring. The 2006 and up C6 auto shift ****, has a more rounded ergonomic contour and is secured with a plastic lock collar on the bottom of the ****. It's a little more involved but, it might be possible to use the 2006 C6 auto shift ****...

The car is auto and my purpose is solely the shifter mechanism is tall (slightly cumbersome and not suited to my driving position) and if I re work the stalk I want the grip better fitting like a newer style C6.
I'm not concerned with any particular difference in parts, this is going to be a one- off arrangement and won't be just a parts swap which I know and that's all good. Just a query to see if anyone's done this already
Thanks

05 C6 has a 4 speed automatic. 06 up, a 6 speed. I'd think the 05 would be doable. You would need the C4 cable since the C6 trans is at the rear of the car.

Just so this isn't misunderstood. I'm only modifying the original C4 auto stalk, and replacing the handle with the late model C6 ****. I'll be adapting the C6 **** button to work the (modified) C4 stalk and trans cable.
Thanks

I too am looking for a replacement shift *** (forum censors the word when spelled correctly??). I hate the push button on top. What were they thinking?
