Default mt2500 question

I am thinking about buying an mt-2500 scaner to use on my 89, but there are so many on ebay that include different items. Not sure what to buy. Can someone who knows about these scanners tell me what I should make sure I get with the scanner to read an 89 vette.

thanks in advance

Mike

I looked through the online Snap-On catalog and it looks like the only accessory you need is the GM-1 adapter cable to connect to the ALDL port.

You need the scanner, cartridge(s)(GM primary at least)and gm1 adapter as Cliff stated. The cigarette lighter power cord is a nice item to have as well. And buy one with the book so you know what all of the values are. Being able to see what your car is doing is indispensable for diagnosing, rather than guessing what is wrong. You cant go wrong with the snapon scanner...

I bought one for use on the 84 on ebay with lots of accessories for just under 200 shipped.

I have recorded all the settings with motor running and not running for future diagnosing..to compare with FSM numbers.. it runs fine right now..

Make sure it is for OBD1..

Keys are for OBDII only- 1996+ cars. That mt2500 is a great tool.
