X pipe or H pipe
What are the pros and cons of each one, and (in your opinion) which option offers a better sound.
The LT1 makes good power well into the 5000s. So, IMO the X pipe, such as sold by Stainless Works was my choice.
The "H" pipe is suppose to balance the pulses and lessen the pressure to the mufflers - similar to the X-pipe. But, due to the fact that flow direction is perpendicular to the exhaust flow direction, its not affective at higher rpm. Claims for added torque might be true in some circumstances, but much depends on the entire exhaust system working together in concert - whether H or X pipe design is selected.
Coupled with a tune, some good gains are on tap for this X-pipe "bolt on" power adder (in concert with LT headers and free flowing mufflers).
