I've a small coolant leak at the water pump, right side and looks like around the top bolt. I was looking at water pumps. Any recommendations for the brand to buy?
I too have a 1989 corvette convertible. The water pump went out and I checked into a OEM water pump. The price was way, way up there. So I opted for a water pump from NAPA. When the mechanic changed out the water pump, I had him also replace the upper and lower radiator hose, bypass hose, new hose clamps, gasket, thermostat, and replace the vacuum hoses under front of intake manifold. And finished by refreshing the anti-freeze. The car runs great and am quite happy with the results. My two cents!
Don't get too worried about oem, just get one from auto parts store (if just daily driver) I would just add, I did my timing chain while I had everything off front end. Just a suggestion. It is a PITA to take everything of, so anything you can change...Do it! Good Luck. I did all the stuff as(i2). plus new belt too.
