Default Car alarm idea

Over the weekend my cousin's FPOS was broken into and his basically worthless stereo was stolen. We've been trying to think of a quick and dirty way to prevent this from happening again and this is what I come up with;

I think we've all gotten to the point where car alarms are false-tripped so often that they're regarded as a nuisance and are basically ignored. Audible alarms ain't worth squat. My thinking is to put the most shrill alarm horn you can find inside the car in order to create an environment so unpleasant that all a would-be theif would want to do is get the hell out.

We're doing the the FPOS this weekend, got hiding places aplenty, but anybody have any blinding flashes of inspiration where an alarm horn could be concealed in a C4 interior without being muffled?

I came up with this concept a while ago and I think it is a good one.

Take apart the venting on your dash, Run the alarm so it faces out of the vent . Replace the vent :D Can't be seen but it can be heard :eek: Also consider putting a strobe light in the dash right in the gauge cluster.. not only will the arsehole be deaf but blinded as well. (just hope that an epileptic person doesn;t walk buy when it is going off ;) :jester )

They also have those smoke machines that will smoke out the inside of your car as an added feature. Ive seen one go off one time and there is no way anyone in the car would be able to see nor breathe.

My car has 3 sirens…Two under the hood and one in the rear wheel well…when that thing goes off it is absolutely deafening. Lights flash and horn blows also. In order to make three sirens work on an aftermarket system is to use relays.

strobe and smoke sound good, but a good idea I got from a friend of mine who has a 15,000 stereo system in his car is he installed razor blades behind anything that has to be removed to get out stereo equipment. i.e. dash, speaker boxes, radio. just have to be really careful, but if anyone tries to get your stuff there going to leave you a finger or two behind.

did the siren behind the vent trick to my 84 works very well, a friend of mine got a set of strobe lights and put them in the piller lights red on one side blue on the other when it goes off it like the police were there watching and waiting , you dont know what is going on. but the best is what they do in south africa, they have flame throwers that spit flame out the side when tampered with bet there are some very burnt car theives in africa :cheers: :cool: :) :) :)

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! I was thinking about wiring some C4 Plastique (how appropriate) to a mercury switch, too. All the authorities would find is a smoking crater.

I like that smoke machine idea. I was thinking about mace or pepper spray. I wonder how acrid that smoke is.
