Took my 85 out for a spin today. Try to at least every 3 to 4 weeks during the winter. Tested the headlights and found they would not rotate up. They tried to open but it seemed as if they were catching something. Stopped by my Vette Mech. and he was able to get them to open by pushing on the fiber glass housing. He said they were catching on the Bezel. Most likely due to the weather and temps. The car does sit in a carport so is subject to temp and some moister.
Is there some adjustment for this? Any idea's? I don't drive the car much. 800 miles last year and seldom use the lights. By the way, the reason the mech. didn't address the problem today is he is booked out 3 to 4 weeks.
Thanks,
JW
Sounds like your headlight motor gear is cracked . Its a plastic gear
Thanks for your response. The motor is fine. This problem effects both lights and the problem began with both lights at the same time. The headlights are getting caught on something. that's why I asked if there was an adjustment.

There is some adjustments on the entire headlight housings. You could check. You should have an equal gap around the hood and the headlight opening. Can you open your headlights manually?
If you look at the frame the bucket sits in it attaches with 4 nuts on studs in the hood. You can loosen these nuts and move the frame around and adjust as necessary.
