Default Need help finding where this part goes

I recently changed my water pump on my 1990 Corvette. After replacing the removed parts I ran across this bracket and I was unable to locate were it belongs. I thought it came from the area around the AC pump or bracket but again I'm missing something. I would appreciate any help to where it goes.

Looks like the bracket that goes from the A/C compressor to the exhaust manifold on an LT1. Probably different on your engine because there is no need to remove it to replace the water pump on an LT1.

On the older (mind was 1985) L98, there was a brace from the alternator to the block. It attached to the exhaust manifold and was on the back side of the alternator. Check to see if you have one.

Here is a pic from my 91's FSM. See bracket #6. Looks like the brace to the back of the AC pump. I no longer have the car but if you hold the bracket up to the pump you should see where the other end bolts to. I vaguely recall that the rear of the brace bolts to the intake manifold. The photo may help too but you might have to blow it up to see the bracket. Good luck!

i have to go with cliff on this one - #5 -- just like the diagram. I just checked my 90, and it is the brace that goes from the RH upper water pump stud-bolt to the front-lower AC compressor via the AC mounting bracket. the end of the bracket with the welded in spacer goes to the AC side. there's a long bolt (#8) that goes thru the AC compressor, and thru the mounting bracket , then the brace -- all secured with a flange nut (#2). hope this helps....

Thanks for all your help you nailed that one. I have included a pic of the bracket in place to confirm its location.
