Default Proper intro, 2nd attempt...

Hello all...I've been around for a few months but hadn't introduced my lady to the forum. I had her out last night and rinsed her off. I decided to pull over at an apartment complex close to the carwash...and where my friend lets me store her...wipe her down and take a few cell phone pics. It's getting dark but I think they still turned out ok.

Sorry about blinding everyone with my first attempt. I've made them smaller so I'm trying again

Looks great.

I really like the gunmetal gray color on the wheels. I am refinishing some pretty beat up ones and was thinking about that color. I like it!

Welcome - again - to the forum! I'm sure we'll see more of you with a nice looking rig like that to show off.

Are those wheels 17's?

Yes they are 17's. The guy I bought them from claimed that they were real ZR1 wheels that his uncle had. He stated that his uncle got 4 ZR1 front wheels for his Camaro but never used them. the centers have the raised or embossed or whatever you call it sticker that seems OEM but, I've never seen real gun metal ZR1 wheels before so I'm not putting much stock in the story.

Thank you all for the kind words, I'm very proud of her.

Thank you for the comment. Since purchasing her I have installed several things that give her a newer appearance. The wheels and tires, new seats from Ecklers, new interior parts and bezels, floor mats coming soon, new emblems on back and hood, new visors, some new weather stripping, brakes rotors and covers, Borla exhaust on order, open face air filter cover, upholstery on deck lid, door sill cover thingies, and some other things...haven't decided yet but may start on dressing up engine compartment in spring. She has 45k on her, runs great, and has had some good servicing since I've taken ownership.

I did all the work myself and it's addictive.

I've read the comments on the caliper covers and went with them because I really like the look. But, I went with matt black since I thought the idea was to cover the ugly calipers instead of drawing attention to them by getting gloss red or another gloss finish. I have noticed less brake dust since installing them...that's something...

The GM ZR-1's wheels are known as A-molds yours have been refinished in that color and look outstanding. The A-molds originally came out on the ZR-1 9.5" fronts, 11" rears and were silver, You could also get them a 96 CE silver 9.5 all round and 96 GS coupe had 9.5 and 11, convertible 9.5 all around in black although the rear offset was not the same on the 11's as the ZR-1 wheel. The GM wheels have JWL on them

Again Great looking car and the wheels & color look great on it.

Thank you for the information and compliments. I'll be looking soon to confirm. There's always someone on here with the answer...by far the best vette forum I've found.
