Default New rubber

I got my tires back today and I like em. Nitto 555
Hard to find tire sizes that are made for the c4.

But they look pretty good. I will try to post a few pics.

I have to clean up the rims again. Tire shops are not as careful as you would like them to be.

The tread pattern is pretty good looking.

I bought a set of Continentals in the fall for my '94 and a set of Goodrich's in December for my '84. I've been really happy with both of them, although I haven't had much time for driving, it being winter.

I will say that the Goodrich tires were "supposed to be" really noisy, but I haven't heard anything out of the ordinary. Maybe I'm deaf.

Ive found that my gforce tires are quiet on smooth roads but noticably noisy on rough patches.

Well I wanted something a bit soft but not too soft. Nitto 555 was a 300 I think. I wanted something with a bit of an interesting looking tread pattern. And size, was tough to find the correct size for my vette. Nitto 555 was a good choice sort of covered all the bases and the price was pretty good too.

Well as typical, the tire shops ignore the dot or circle in your case on the tire. This indicator from the factory is supposed to be lined up with the valve stem for ease of balancing. A tire can be balanced where ever but in my opinion, less is better. I just got two front tires put on and even explained this to the installer and they almost got it right. I dont understand what is so freakin hard about it. It makes their job easier.

Is that correct? I wasn't too impressed with where the weights were located. I had mentioned to them I didn't want to see them if at all possible. Is there somewhere on the net that tells a person that this dot is meant to be lined up with the valve stem? I am going to check all of my tires now. Only thing is then they have to unassemble and reassemble the tires off of the rims and there is more opportunity for damage. Not that they would damage them but you know what I mean.

Not on the car yet. I am still doing some winter maintenance.
So far I have done.....

Oil and filter change
Transmission oil change
Fuel filter change
Greased up
Cleaned all the suspension up behind the wheels

New Hurst Billet short shifter for 6 speed
Custom shifter boot - really cool!
Installed a resistor to stop the headlight auto-on feature

Still to do......

Custom leather cover for factory shifter ****

Differential fluid
Rad flush
Brake fluid - if I can figure out how to do it properly
Power steering fluid - if I can figure out how to do it properly

Then I have to reinstall the exhaust system. I had to pull it out because of installing the short shifter, believe it or not. So with the exhaust out it makes it much easier to change a lot of the fluids in the car.
I am no mechanic just an HVAC guy so it is a good challenge to do some of the things on this car. But, on the upside, I get to purchase some new tools to do the work. That is always good!

RedLine Goods for this stuff. Great products, great service!
