Default is it possible

Is it possible. I have my c4 2ft in the air while i do transmission seals, headers and exhaust and under car cleaning. It seems that there is not a front frame ext or skidbar on the car.. or a front bumper impact bar behind the bumper cover. Now the impact bar may be behind the cover but when i reach trough the two access holes.. my hand is right where the front license plate cover is.
I am not real familar with this area yet.. would any one know if it is possible that those parts could be missing.. thanks, gary

Here is my 91 with the front fascia removed. I no longer have the car though.

Default Thanks

Thanks Ron, for the pics and I will do more investigating tomorrow. My 1987 came from the po with a 91-91 front end and rear end already installed and painted ready to roll. When I reached my hand through either of the little square access holes on each side my hand was on the license plate void where I will be cutting my hole for more air flow.
I don't feel anything else on the backside.. is the impact bar used to support the foglights? my car has the correct foglights on it. just curious if I could be missing a impact bumper.. do you have a pic of the front frame ext? I think I have heard it called a front frame stiffener. I did not find it in my 87 FSM. thanks again, gary

Gary, notice where Nalley is? Right up the road. If you cant get it locally, they are a good source. Most of the time our local dealers can get it overnight tho and you will save shipping.

I forgot to mention that the absorber #35 was changed I believe in the '93 production cars so the "newer" image that Nalley displays is the "newer" product vs. the "honeycombed" product on Ron's car. If your conversion was done with the newer product there very well could be a void directly behind the tag indentation.

Hi

The frame has a metal support that the fibreglass type bumper support bolts onto, the impact absorber bolts to that with the lights then the bumper cover goes over that.

There should be two skid bars from the engine crossmember to the bumper suport each side of the radiator airflow inlet.

Here is a pic of my 85 when i removed the old bumper and went to the 91-96 look front and back.

You might just be able to see the skid bars, for protection from
dammage when you go too close to the kerb.

Hope it helps

The picture below is from my white '94 after I hit a deer. The front fascia is off so you can see the newer style #35 from the Nalley exploded diagram.
