had that problem. A few for the parts supplies in here, such as Ecklers , ect, sell a tool for about 25 bucks that will open your hood. Are a pia to learn, but once done, you can do it in a jiffy from then on. Watch the video. Its simply a round rod with a 90 degree bend on the working end of it.

You can buy or make the opening tool others have suggested. I believe its also possible to remove the front wheel liners and access the hood latch from there.
