First of all, I am not here to flame any of you. I own a C3, and it has been brought up time and time again on the C3 Forum, how owners of C4s and C5s do not wave at C3s. I for one have about a 50% success rate with getting a wave from a C4 or C5. What I am asking is should Vette enthusiasts with C3s give up trying to wave at your models? I hope this is not the case, but a little assurance would be nice. :flag

I always wave out of respect for the Vette.. Any Vette...
It doesn't matter if I get a response or not..I still wave... So just wave and don't let a non response bother you..They might wave at the next Vette they see because you waved at them..

I began driving a corvette every day since 1966 and I have been waving at other corvettes no matter what year since 1966. I do/don't get return waves from every year vette and I do not detect any kind of pattern.

I always wave at every vette I see, whether they wave back or not (unless I'm busy shifting or otherwise preoccupied). I even wave back if a non-vette waves at me!

I wave ay EVERY vette I ever see and believe it or not I get the most waves back from the C5 guys, C4 guys next and all others almost never. Dont feel bad though...as soon as the C6 comes out the C5 guys will be in our spot and youll have all us C4 guys parked in yer front yard, drinking yer beer and telling bad jokes. Get ready.... :cheers:

I wave at every vette (any generation) I come across, and we all know there are plenty here in Texas. I even wave to a guy down the street that has a truck similar to mine :confused: . Vette people due it, Harley people due it, now I guess the truck people want some to. :cheers: :lol:

My 89 is over visiting my buddies 79 (ZZ4, hookers, cam, worked heads, body off, more) this week [street getting paved and needed the parking]. He has owned several mid-years and several sharks. His wife taught me the wave 20 years ago. She also said my clutch was a lot lighter as she barked second past the house.

I like sharks, they wave. :seeya

I had no idea there was a model war, I have been vetting since 88 and have never noticed a trend. I wave to all, even when I'm in one of my other cars. When someone does not wave back I just chalk it up to inexperience. "Must be a rookie" :sleep: So i guess in short when they don't wave, just mumble to yourself, "rookie" It always makes me feel better. :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya

The wave is unknown to so many people, especially the new vette owners(of any year).

I knew about the wave 20 years before I bought a vette.

I wave to every vette, most C5's don't even acknowledge you, most sharks will either give a wave or an engine rev as they pass. There are even C4 owners who don't wave back to me.

The best wave story I have is while driving west on I-4 thru Orlando, I came up on a '67 coupe. As I passed, I gave him a wave, he almost had a heart attack! I think he wasn't expecting a wave from a C4. Later a '77 came whizzing past, he didn't wave, but he gave me the old engine rev as he passed me.
Most C5's that do wave will usually flash their fog lights rather than actually wave, which is fine by me.

With over 1,000,000 vettes still on the road, I'm sure it is possible that not every owner is educated in the wave.

I wave to every vette I see. But if I was to have a preference it would be to the earlier years. I would love to see more C3s, C2s and C1s on the road.

I was beginning to believe that all the earlier vettes were trailer queens and their owners were only interested in showing them, not keeping the wave alive.

I always wave, even if others don't. Maybe they are new Vette owners and haven't realized that it is the Proper thing to do. Or they live in Cali like me where people are just butts (most of the time) and don't give a rat's butt about anyone but themselves.... I know, I live here, but I am from Washington State originally, only here because the Air Force thinks this is the place for me to me, for now.
