My 94 did the same thing I took the driver side door switch out put one screw in the door and put the switch over it then put the other screw in to hold the switch for a quik fix four years ago forgot all about it till now lol.......just looked at it it was the top screw that I put in the door to shim the switch

If I'm correct, it's because the frame is flexing. Does it only happen with the top down? In my coupe, with the roof off, going on a seriously inclined slope, the interior lights will come on.

It's got a few years on it I would replace or shim the switch mine is a hard top

yes - does not seem to matter. There are many things I have done that could of caused this including jacking it up in the wrong place and got the body out of whack
