so my dad has a 88 convertible that's currently got the interior torn apart, and we're looking to do some custom stuff with the audio. Specifically the rear speakers.
The problem is that whenever you put any luggage in the 'trunk', with the factory speaker placement the luggage sits on top of the speakers and completely muffles the sound. So we were hoping to put some speakers in a small, out of the way spot that'll still provide good sound, whether the top or luggage is in the storage area.
Has anyone ever done this? Anyone ever tried? I appreciate any help guys, thanks!
I kinda have the same problem. 87 convertible. Very limited as to what can be done in the rear because of the top. I was thinking about component speakers. Mids in the doors. Tweeters about them on the dash. The back is the problem. I was thinking about 8" subs in the factory locations. Would work with the top down. I'm wondering if tweeters in the back would interfere with the tweeters up front? Definitely need a good crossover for everything. Hopefully some others will chime in.
