Default Hood Compatibility

I was unable to find a thread on this. It is my understanding that 1984 had its own hood, 85-91 are the same, and 92-96 are the same.

The 1984 has the cold air ducts for the Cross-Fire so is unique. Not aware of any big differences in the later hoods.

Are you actually needing one or are you just curious? There are differences if one was to be looking for original.

I'm selling mine (1989) and wanted to make sure it was compatible with any buyers. It looks like the '89 hood will fit '85 through '91. The under hood apparently changed slightly with the LT1 in '92.

The only question a person might have is the location and type of hood strut/support. You could post snapshots of it opened with the support/strut raised. That would answer I believe all of the questions.

One of the rails on the LT1 hood is slightly different to allow clearance for the AC compressor
