1996 gs?
looking for correct interpretation of second "Y" in the VIN # 1G1YY2256T5102998?
Someone is advertising the car as Grand Sport but it isn't Admiral Blue and the rear wheel wells are not flared more than normal.
Thanks

This is a common mistake by many sellers who own an LT4 Corvette as the throttle body cover says Grand Sport on all 6-speed 96 Corvettes.

The second "Y" doesn't really mean anything by itself.
1 = US Built
G = General Motors Product
1= Chevrolet Motor Division Product
YY = Corvette
The eighth character being a 5 = LT4 engine
Which as corvetteronw mentioned they all have "Grand Sport" listed on the top of the throttle body
The 12th character being a 1 tells you this isn't a real Grand Sport.
1 = Regular Coup or Convertible
6 = Grand Sport
