The tops of my headlights have fallen off. One about a month ago it is lost forever, now the other side has fallen off. How do I fix it? Do I buy new headlight assemblies?
We are talking about a 1988. What I am saying is the part of the headlight that shows when in the closed position has fallen off. In other words, when my headlights are closed I can see inside the headlight assembly, there is now finished surface. It a peers that an epoxy adhesive has failed.
Yes, I belive it could be glued back in place. Unfortunately, I only have one of the two pieces.
After some research I have found the piece is simply called "door", I am going to have to buy two new ones at 59.00$ each. Of course I will have to either paint them myself or pay someone to paint them.
Also, any words of wisdom will be given equal time to my own.

Re: headlights comming unglued (slim1)
The plastic headlight covers are glued on in four places to metal angled pieces that are screwed into the headlight assembly. I used some quick-dry 2 part epoxy, and it's stayed on so far. I recall that the covers also screw into the other half of the molding (the side you see when the lights are up) so if those 2 screws are in there, it shouldn't fall off. These screws are on the sides, and they're either hex or torx head. When mine came unglued, the plastic just rattled around loose, and chipped the paint when smacking against the hood.
Hello, thanks for the information. Unfortuatly, when mine came unglued they fall completely off. Maybe something changed in the manufacturing process between those couple of years. If I had both pieces I would try to epxoy them back on, but of course I only have one.
