Has anyone had any experience with Bonanza Corvettes in San Diego? They've got a couple of very interesting listings but before I go all the way down there I'd be interested in hearing of anyone's past contacts with them
I've been in their shop a couple of times before I bought my coupe. 3 years ago, they told me they were quitting business, but they are still there!! I check their website occasionally, and it seems they have very little turnover. I've seen mostly the same vettes for the last 6 months.
Maybe they have more that they don't show on the web, but it seems alittle strange. It's a real bare bones place.
They are located in the east side of the old downtown area, but the Gas Lamp Quarters is about 10 blocks west. That's a great place to grab lunch, a beer and just hang out.
Good luck :seeya
Thanks for the insight. I've also found them to be a bit strange - their location and the fact that they aren't open on Saturday or Sunday. They might just be be well-heeled hobbyists that don't need to sell anything. I might go take a look just out of curiosity anyway.
Sounds like your looking for a nice vette to buy? Let me know what you're interested in, and I'll keep my eyes open for you. I'm in Poway, in North San Diego county. I'm between jobs right now, in case you need a tour guide. I'd be glad to show you around town. You can email me. Click on my user name.
The Bonanza guys are active in the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego, a club that I've attended a couple of times as a guest. It's basically a social club! Not for me. I think you're correct when you said they are more of a hobbyist than anything else.
Also in the Gas Lamp Quarters, there is the Vintage Auto's dealer. They have dozens of older cars of all types. I've seen very few vettes there, but they have muscle cars to Rolls Royces!! Very interesting place to look thru.
