Default crossfire overheating

It all started a few months ago when I lost 3 and 4 gear and had to be towed back. We left the engine running in neutral while being towed to not ruin the rear. After about 45 minutes when I got to the house I noticed coolant pouring out of the overflow and the temperate reading of 299 (it's max). A month later I installed a new transmission and thermostat. I noticed the car getting hot and the fan never came on so a week later (today) I installed a new fan relay and new fan switch. I started the car and it quickly warmed up and the fan came on around 220 however the temperature rose to 265 with the fan on and the idle never dropped from around 1200. I shut off the car and turned it back on a minute later...the idle was normal this time however the fan never kicked back on? Also the engine got up to 265 then down to 235 then back up to 285!. I shut the car off and yes it was bubbling....what is wrong with my car and why didn't the fan come back on?????

Could you be a little more specific? All the wires seem fine and all the fuses are good besides my dash which always pops because it has a 85 cluster installed not a 84 and the rpm and speedo don't work...but that's another problem.

I found them and noticed tape around each one...could this be the problem?

It was the link while I was checking those wires the wire fell right out of the rubber...I wired it to the 12v line (temporary) and the fan kicks on at 200 and the temp went to 206 then down to 185. Thanks everyone save me a lot of time and money!
