So .. I had a spare gas door and thought it looked pretty cool, so I just hung it on the wall, like so. I also have a license plate frame with a clock in it. Anyone else have interesting Corvette memorabilia?
Im planning on starting up my collection in a few months. Ive hovered over the buy button a few times on ebay but I need to redo an area in my computer room for the stuff before I start snagging items for it
Hrm, I really like that. I plan on doing some similar stuff, granted I don't have a spare gas door sitting around. Haha. I want to get one of those "Corvette Parking Only" signs in the garage, for starters.
Nice model collection, and I like the touch of Vegas mixed in. Did you build any of those models? Last year I took a shot at an old C5 model I had sitting around in a box since '97, and while the build went well, the paint ended up too orange peeled to revive without a re-do. Oh, and I clumsily got glue all over the windows. Hopefully I do better on the '84 I got...

They're actually all die-cast .. I probably haven't built a model in 25 years. I seem to remember I got pretty good at it - lots of airplanes and trucks.
I wish I could find a 1/18th scale car hauler, but either they don't exist or they sell for a couple hundred.

I know a guy who did this as well but he kept the lift up mechanism and underneath is a key rack. Door closed keys hidden away. Kinda neat

Nice to see you again, JD!
I've found building to be in my wheel house. But getting a good spray paint job? That's another story altogether. Prep, prep, prep. And patience.
Oh... that car hauler idea is great.
You too. I think finally replacing the water pump and getting her back on the road has brought me back around here again, lol.
Haha, I guess you didn't catch a few of my threads. Yeah, water pump started weeping on me. Thankfully I caught it early enough to save the Opti (which is still working well). But between studying up on the job, getting parts/tools and figuring it out as I went, plus procrastination, she was off the road for weeks. Successful in the end, though. And now I know that engine bay a hell of a lot better.

When I was in high school I loved making model cars, planes, and ships. I had 2 of each corvette generation 1-4. Then i went off to college and when I came home for Christmas they were all gone (long story, luckily I am over it)
I just started building them again; I made a C4 replica exactly like mine and a '59. The current C6 models available dont have engines! AMT makes crappy models and they have the licencing agreement to make the C6.
Kids (young and old) love to see my little vette on the hood of my big vette at cruise nights.
I would definitely like to have a few shelves of models as my decor, but since I want to build them it'll take a while.

Eesh, that must have been a rough Christmas. And thats crappy about no engines in the C6. That's not a model, thats a body shell!

Myself, I went into the AutoZone touch-up paint department and picked out a couple cans that closely resembled my color. Asked the clerk to let me see the cans next to the car outside and picked the one closest. Since mine isn't a factory color, I couldn't use a stock can of my year and color.
