Just browsing through my 1994 shop manual, and looking at my RPO codes...it lists 45U, which according to the shop manual, is MEDIUM GREEN PEARL EXTERIOR COLOR. Do I need to change my screen name?
Cadillac also used the same color on some DeVilles. It was also called Medium Green Metallic.
From what I recall, there were two shades of Polo Greens. One of the colors was simply called Polo Green Metallic and was first available on the 1990 cars as RPO 91U. The other was Polo Green II Metallic, RPO 45U starting with the 92 cars. The II was a slightly lighter version with a little more gold metallic in it.
My apologies if I offended anyone with my C4 General question in the C4 GENERAL DISCUSSION forum. Moderators please delete this thread, sorry I wasted the cyberspace. Just making conversation
I know the paint names are kind of gimmicky marketing, but if there was truth in advertising they would have called it 'Hard to Sell Green'. Right up there with 'OMG that Vette is Purple'.
think c4cruiser is right on this one
Also a thread posted awhile ago about a guy who went in for a factory repaint, it looked a little different and metallicy and discovered what cruiser posted.

At least they took the time to think of a catchy (gimmicky) name. My car is silver-beige metallic. Couldn't they have at least called it champagne?
It also depends on different years and sometimes it's confusing if you accidentally access the RPO from another car - thinking "surely paint color 33 is the same for everyone."
Not so, Boo Boo.
I found that my car was painted Driftwood. At least, if I pulled the 33 out of the Cadillac database for that year. For Corvette that year, it was Bright Red.
And, btw, I think a topic is a topic. If it blows, no one will reply and it will die a quick death. This one - obviously was of interest to a number of people.
