Default 85 door handle

war dept slammed the door too hard at the American Legion today, now passenger door opens from the inside, not outside. Is it just a rod that fell off? any easy fixes? did a lot of work on the car, never took the door panels off.....

Same thing happened to my 85. There is a plastic clip that secures the rod to the door handle mechanism. I didn't fix it myself but watched my mechanic do the job and it was a bear. He had to modify a screw driver to get up to the area. Tight quarters, Got the clips from Corvette Central.
I remember there are two different clips and CC wasn't sure which was the correct one so I bought both. 2.50 ea.

Here is a tip. After you get the door panel off use a mirror and flashlight to see what your dealing with. While installing the new clip you might as well be blindfolded.
