Default Polished wheels

Can someone tell me for certain if the polished sawblade wheels were a factory option in 95 ?? Or did someone just go crazy with an orbit polisher ....

Stock should have been a clear coated wheel. So prior owner may have stripped clear coat off and just polished.

The link below shows the wheels for each year.

The "sawblades" came in two types. One is a painted finish ('91-'92) and the other has a machined finish face that is clear coated ('93-'96). The machine finish is somewhat "bright" and some people call them polished, but they are not.

Over time the clear breaks down so people sand and polish them. I did it to my 86 wheels.

My 95 has chromed sawblades that I'm pretty sure are factory. The car had 19k miles and the original Good Years when I bought it 4 months ago. When I changed the tires everything looked factory inside because it had the LTPW sensors on the original bands. I have seen a few others that are chromed too.

Not really a lover of chrome wheels but I will adapt.

White you may indeed have factory sawblades that were chrome plated by a previous owner however, they did not come from the factory that way. Chrome sawblades were not an option for a 95.

I don't know for sure but I sure see a lot of em around here in SoCal. For example and this guy says he's a NCRS member http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac...063427793.html

Just sayin.

Chrome sawblades have been available on the aftermarket forever. But they most definitely have not come from the factory either stock or as an option. Just sayin' "just sayin" doesn't make it so.

I really don't think I said it made it so. I don't know how my wheels got chromed and I really don't give a rats behind how or why they got chromed. They are indeed chromed and I see a boatload of em around here in So Cal.

Just sayin

Your first post stated that you thought they were factory. Your second alludes to a NCRS member having them with the implication that he would only have them if they are factory. They aren't factory. Simple as that. And not worth getting upset about either.

You are correct there are a LOT of them around. It was a very popular aftermarket option for many people. I bought chrome A-molds myself a few years after I bought my 95 mostly to have a second set of wheels as I run different tires in the summer vs. the 9 month rainy season here

Boy I sure missed that one. You have a talent for spotting the invisible implication. The guy in the ad said he was a NCRS member. That was his ad. I don't know anything about him or the car. I assumed he was a "Corvette guy" and might even have bought the car new I just don't know. I guess I could stretch this out and call him then have him join so he could post his lifetime chrome sawblade experience on this thread or I could just let it go. So.

Buh bye
