Default HVAC questions.

So with the recent rash of 100+ degree days here in NC (and the southern humidity to go with it ugh), my AC doesn't quite feel up to the job.
Sure it keeps me from sweating like a pig...but not much beyond that. It's still not cool, even after it's been on for 10 min, at full blast.
The air coming out doesn't feel all that great either.

Is this normal?

Or is it simply low on freon? (Which I hope the previous owners converted to R134A at some point...)

What year? I would check the freon first sounds like it could be low.

I have a 92 so a different engine etc. but my corvette probably has the coldest AC of any car Ive owned or even been in. Only car where Ive actually turned the ac down/off on a 95+ day because i was getting cold lol
