From the dealer, they are at least $110. EBAY ranges from $50 on up.

This is from my '96 manual

Matching Transmitter(s) To Your Vehicle

Each key chain transmitter is coded to prevent another transmitter from unlocking your vehicle. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacemnet can be purchased through your dealer.

To match transmitters to your vehicle.

1. Move transmitters out of range (6 feet).
2. Turn the ignition key on.
3. Push TRIP ODO on the driver information center twice.
4. Within five seconds press and hold FUEL INFO until the PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light comes on.
5. Turn the ignition off but leave the key in the ignition. The PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light should begin to flash to show the system is in the programming mode.
6. Bring one transmitter into range. The light will stop flashing and stay on to show that the code is stored.
7. Move the transmitter out of range. The light should start flashing again.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with each transmitter.

The programming mode will shut off if:
a. You don't program any transmitter for two minutes
b. You take the key out of the ignition
c. You have programmed three transmitters

There, I hope that helps.

Does anyone know if all the Chevy key fobs are the same? Like, could I use a Camaro key fob on my vette? Just asking because my dad kept his 99 SS fob, and it is just sitting there since he sold the car. Also, is the procedure any different for a 92? because my pke light doesn't want to come on when I try the procedure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

In a word... NOPE! :p: the system is the same more or less for the 92-96 years so there shouldnt be any differences for initiating/reprogramming.

Watch what you bid on on ebay as some of the fobs have been non working used units being sold as new.

Even shipped it out same day for me. Had it the next day . Best deal I found without jumping through the E-Bay hoops.

I found a dealer that wanted to get rid of one that had been on the shelf for a while. Just ask everytime you call a dealer. I would try the camaro fob. Let us know if it works.

Well, I would have tried the camaro one, but I couldnt get the procedure to work :( I did a little research and found out that the first year they were offered was in 93. If there is anyone here with a 92, that came with the pke, that would be cool. One thing that is strange though is the fact that I can "see" the light in the info center, but it won't come on, i've done some of the other procedures but I can't get the pke programming one to work, I'm starting to think that maybe my car didnt come with it, the past owner didnt give me a fob, or ever received one from who he bought the car from (who happened to be the original owner) So, I guess it will have to be an aftermarket product for me, at least I tried :D
