Nitto 555s

They are solid tires for street use. Unless your racing maybe somebody has another suggestion.

Default I have Nitto 555's on my 94

Am happy with them after about 5000 miles. Continental also has a tire in our sizes that gets good reviews.

Another vote for Nitto 555s. I've had them on my "95 for over two years now in all kinds of weather. I would buy them again.

Continental Extreme Contact (either DW or DWS) are solid great tires.
I'm using General Tire Gmax right now, and they're honestly better I think than the DWSs were. Quieter, more road feel, grip is about the same. We'll see how they wear, so far so good. Plus the Gmax has an amazing looking tread pattern.

Of course if money is no object...and it's not driven in cold weather (sub 50F), Michelin Pilot Super Sports, are the best bet period unless you're tracking the car...then slicks are your best bet obviously.

I bought the Nitto 555 about 3 month ago and they seem just fine and you cant beat the price. I had Goodyear Eagle F1 on previously but they were twice the price at $300+ and I don't need a race tire.

I hope so.

There was just a sale/rebate plus the manufacturer's rebate so I got a set of the Extreme Contact DW in all four 275/40/17 size. I don't even have them on the car yet, so no review for a while, but I hope they are great.

I just got some MT street comp. Nice tires for the price. Haven't put many miles on them yet.

I love my Mickey Thompson Sport Comps on my Grand Sport. They handle great, are quiet, ride decently and they are reasonably priced.

I just put a new set of the Continentals DWS extreme contacts on my wife's BMW .....don't have them on the C4 since I have a somewhat new set of Michilin Pilot Sports on it....but I will tell you the Contis are excellent so far! Huge improvement in the car...very quiet and handling is excellent! And these are very low profile on the BMW.....the BF Goodrich tires were super noisy compared to the Continental tires.....the front end use to make noise with the BF Goodrich, the Continentals made it smooth as glass....very pleased...

I just bought a set of BF Goodrich, at Costco, for my '94. Cost $650 installed. Improved the ride immeasurably. Noise is not a problem.

How and where do you drive the car. Are you a cruiser or are you going to be on a track? Winter driving?

I put new Bridgestone Expedia SO-1's on mine several years ago and have no complaints. Stock sizes on 1/2" wider wheels.

They do flat-spot after about 48 hours, but the flat-spotting goes away after about 10 miles. All the Extreme Summer Performance tires I have had did the same thing.
