Default Under hood light switch

I'm getting ready to replace the air compressor & dryer for my air conditioner in my 87 and I want to know where the under hood switch is to bypass it or disconnect it to turn the lights off while I am working to save my battery power or would you suggest to disconnect the battery first. Thanks for your help! Bobby

Seems like theres one on each side of the radiator. You should be able to see the wiring from the lamp assembly and follow it with your eyes directly to a 2 wire connector.

On my 85 there in the pockets front corners there gray in color. I did the switch kit on mine about 2 years ago and it has never let me down, you can turn them on when ever you need them.
