Default Help with no spark...

I was having a shorting problem with the wiring harness behind distributor... Now after finding what I believe is the bad wire I no longer have any spark. I tried checking codes and it only flashes 12's... No codes. I'm wondering if the ecm got fried when I was having a shorting problem...is there anyway to test it or have it tested?

Update:
I went out and performed some test on the coil, ignition module....
My manual said to hook a test light to + and with ignition off probe the c terminal on the ignition module connector on harness side and I should have a light ...I don't...
it said if there is no light that means an open circuit. Now I'm not an electrical guy, basics that's all, so where should I begin from here?

In order to get voltage on pin C of the ignition module you must have the pink wire plugged into the distributor cap and the ignition turned on. Also the 3 wire harness from the distributor cap connector to the ignition module must be plugged in.

Check the pickup coil to make sure it's OK. It should read about 800 ohms.

Ok so now lets assume the wiring schematic Cliff posted happens to be correct for your car. Probing terminal C (circuit 424) on the harness side with the test light connected to positive (testing for ground) wouldn't really do anything as this is the est bypass circuit. So that explains why you are not getting the results you expected.

Next is this a HEI distributor ?? That means the coil is part of the distributor cap. I cant remember what year they switched away from HEI but I thought it was 85 or 86 but I need to know this because im going to have you skip a bunch of bs and test the most basic function of the ignition module.

Before you do that though, it makes sense to check the obvious. Your original concern was with a shorted wiring harness. I can tell you for certain, if in fact there was a short to ground then somewhere is a blown fuse. So check them all with a test light and by visual inspection and replace any that are open.

Not necessarily. There are no fuses in the sensor circuits.

If you look at the diagram I posted earlier, you will not find any fuses in the ignition wiring.

Well yes that's true, but you can short just about any sensor circuit you want and it wont result in a no start.
Regardless, before we continue, I want to be certain there are no blown fuses.
