I have a 92 for close to a year, also the only Vette I've owned. Not really anymore problems than any others I feel from what I have read. Yeah the optispark can be a pain, I paid to have mine replaced at 77,000 along with the waterpump for about $900.
I have replaced the the drivers side halfshaft ujoints and wheel bearing which were actually pretty easy when I look back. Plugs are kinda difficult but the drivers side plug wires are going to be very hard to do it looks like. I've found that what makes it difficult on things on a Vette is usually the amount of room you have to work within. Just my two cents.

Thanks Mishawaka, someones two cents can be worth a lot to another person, did your ignition go bad, or did you just have it replaced, ive seen several brands have any ideas witch one is best?

It went bad, ran fine til it reached operating temp then just started backfiring and misfiring. Couldn't tell you which brand they installed to be honest. I would call the local vette shop to see but they closed shop about a month ago, I guess the owner decided to retire.
