Default Antenna not working.

I have a 92 corvette and the antenna is not working. When we got the car the antenna was stuck up. You can not hear the motor at all. All the fuses are good. I guess my question is, could it be the antenna relay. I hate to spend the money on a new power antenna. Any advise would be great

Thanks Troy

You mentioned WAS, where is it now? Did you just jam it down? Did it go down easily? I'd think the first thing would be some simple diagnostics. Do you have a DMM or a 12V test light? Both of these are I believe considered "NECESSARY TOOLS" for Corvette C4 owners.

The relay in a '92 is very accessible.

You have to consider this possibility also. Did the previous owner install a switch that allows defeat of the automatic feature of the antenna? Is the radio the factory OR maybe an after-market unit? Is there any unusual toggles in the console, stuffed under the dash on the right or anywhere. The diagnostics might depend heavily on your answers to these questions. A '92 radio receiver box if factory still isn't an easy reach.

Im sorry the antenna is still up and motor does not run. It is still the factory stereo. I dont believe it has a aftermarket antenna bypass. I do have a volt meter.

Maybe you should try reinstalling the unit.

Antenna is powered by the CTSY FUSE I believe so I'd confirm that first. The orange wire at the relay should be 12V constant so long as the fuse is good, pink is the command voltage from the CDM. You need to confirm the ground for the relay and you need to check the ground strap for the antenna to the chassis under the car. On the antenna WHT is DOWN and GRY is UP. Aside from the ground strap at the antenna you should be able to do all diagnostics I believe inside the car.
