pump delete why?

pump delete why?

My a/c is gone my air pump is disconnected why do i need a replacement bracket why not just a shorter serpentine belt?

The main reason is to keep the water pump turning in the correct direction. No water flow if it's backwards...

You can get a standard flowing pump to solve that problem.

Still not quite sure why the direction would be changed. Right now I have no a/c pump or tensioner just running a shorter belt. the only reason I can see that I need an air pump delete is to hold the alternator in place.This was done by the previous owner. I now have a squeal and I am thinking of just making like an arm bracket that would bolt on to the alternator and then over to a one of the left over holes remaining from the removed air pump.
