fan belt squealing

fan belt squealing
My fan belt was squealing when I started the car and it is getting progressively worse. Bought a belt from the local auto parts slightsy smaller same amount of ribs and installed it , fit nice and snug. Start the car and look at my gage and its not charging not making any noise though. reach in after i turn off my car and my pulley is so hot it burns my hand. Put old belt back on its squealing but charging. what the... so the new belt must be slipping but it is not squealing. Now my tensioner and a/c pump is gone but it ran fine with the belt in that position for a year. Why would a new belt that is more snug and doesn't sueal slip so bad.

Belts make noise becouse they are either wet with coolant on it has tension applied to it. My guess one of your accessory pumps or Alt is locked up
