The lamp in it's sealed beam configuration is an H6054 and that should allow you to find appropriate H4 conversions.

You're in the AU I believe so I'd maybe make sure I bought either in country or make sure what ever you buy meets the spec required.

I can't give you any "hands on experience" but there's many threads regarding them. I would consider just maybe the factory lamps and power them using relays that would allow you to improve the voltage at the headlamp to the alternator output.

There should be many good reads some not here on the CF.

Expensive but there are some quite nice HID options.

Look at Daniel Stearns site ALOT of info evan if you don't buy from him. I went with the Cibies not cheap but less than some but more that others. Do your own research. I would not evan think about the HID ebay crap alot sell. Some swear by them but they blind folks as they get close (most claim I never get flashed)

But it's your butt.

Both CIBIE and Hella have H4 Euro-style conversion kits for the 6054 sealed lamp used in the C4.

Either of these replacements will provide a much better lighting pattern and you will have a good choice of H4 bulbs to use. I used the Hella lamps when I had my '92 and I used 90/100W bulbs and there was no problem with the factory wiring.

I bumped mine up a bit live in the bonnies and want to see the deer and bear are really hard to see and don't move near as fast. I went with the relays and 12 gauge wire.

I went with the 90/100 flosser too I think your pushing your wire a bit far.
