Not too many miles. Depends on a few factors. Overall condition and if it has had some of the major maintenance items addressed recently.

Optispark and waterpump to name a few.

Sold my LT4 with a 110k on it and happy to see it depart. I will not buy a high mileage performance car again.

I'd want to go through some inspections or have a mechanic do a thorough evaluation. 120k miles is nothing if fluids were changed regularly. Stuff like wheel bearings, clutch, synchros, U-joints, AC, heater, all electrical stuff, etc would also be on the checklist, along with the tranny, diff, etc. If all that checks out, I'd not say $10-12k would be too much as long as the paint and interior are also good. JMO.

Too much. There was a guy selling a 96 CE LT4 with red interior at Carlisle. 59k miles. He hung 12.9k on it was very flexible.

To much mileage, pass it up there out there, just don't rush.

I don't think that's a lot of money for a good LT4. But just like any other high miler of similar age, it depends if it was well maintained & garaged or rode hard and put up wet. Look underneath at suspension bushings and under the hood at rubber hoses and wiring for cleanliness or deterioration. Condition of under-hood wiring and rubber will give a pretty good indication of the kind of care the rest of the car has received.

Assuming average condition, its a good price. 120k miles is low for a 20 year old car, and the LT cars are good for 200k+ without major problems if maintained. The old 100k adage has been dead for many years, though some still cling to it. The most expensive items are, 1)paint, 2)ZF6 spd, 3)Lt motor. If you are worried about repairs that you can't do, you shouldn't be buying a 20 year old car. Present condition is far more important than miles. The difference between an 80kmi. car and a 120kmi. car is negligible as far as reliability. The other thing, is how many miles do YOU plan to put on it? Less than 5k a year, and you'll only have 170kmi. in 10 years, and that will be under average for a 30 year old car.

I wouldn't think that's a bad price at all, if it's clean and well maintained. I love my LT4....mine's a little lower miles than that at 100k, but so far I don't see any reason it wouldn't do 200k+ if I maintain it well. My '93 LT1 had close to 200k on it when I sold it and it was still running excellent.

If everything is mostly tip-top that price is still ballpark. All 6 speed LT1/4 cars are gaining value. I sold a purple 95 with 90k miles for $6500 4 years ago. 8 isn't crazy talk for 120k miles unless it is beat.

People (outside enthusiast forums) have forgotten about the LT4. People should buy them now when they are cheap. Of all the C4's, including the Gran Sports and the ZR-1, the non Gran Sport LT4 cars have the best potential, (at least short to mid term potential).

Funny thing, a Carfax can list 6 owners and only gave two people as the owners. I have seen cars with multiple owners on the Carfax but the owners were dealera where the car was traded to for another car, then it went to auction and new dealer who bought it had their name attached to it.

Not sure if that is the case but probably not. Lol

I don't get hung up on owners. Corvette guys seem more hung up on how many guys owned a car vs how many had done the nasty with their woman before then. Lol

Not overly concerned about how many owners. But guy says he had car 7 years and from orginal owner and turns out to be 4 years and 6 owners. That's a red flag for me.

I will never understand the mentality of "OMG, it's got over 100K miles, run away". It's nearly 20 years old, 6K miles a year is nothing, I would prefer a car that's been driven daily to something that's been sitting around.

Go look at the car and check to see how it was maintained. I've got 192K miles on my 05 GTO and it hasn't given me a single problem. 214K on my 92 Vette and it's only recently started giving issues. This aint the 60's any more, cars were designed to be driven.

My 96n LT4 with similar mileage didn't use a drop of oil; when I eventually pulled the heads there was no ridge in the cylinders and the factory hone marks were still visible; mileage can mean a lot; or nothing. This car was out of California's central valley and belonged to a salesman who put on a lot of almost all flat freeway miles. I'd rather have that car than one, say that was driven hard but only had half the miles. Now with all that said, any car that been driven on a routine basis for the last twenty years is gonna need maintenance and some repair / replacement of wear related parts. So absent holding out for the proverbial low miler that has been in storage and before that, was only driven on Sunday to church, I'd say a 96 LT4 with that mileage and reasonable condition would be a good buy.

Pass seat problem may just be the driver seat pluged in wrong connector. The driver seat is a simple repair at an upholstery shop, depending upon condition of rest of the leather. Tires $400 up at Tire Rack. As far as buying recommendation, its impossible without physically seeing it. It IS a good price for an average condition 96 LT-4 car. One might say cheap.

Hi, I have an LT4 for sale with 120k. I've owned it since 2006, and had all the proper maintenance done, incuding recent wp, opti, wheel bearing, suspension bushings, springs, emissions system. It has been a Cali car and garaged or at least under cover since I've owned it. I've used it as a commute car, a weekend fun car and now sits in the garage waiting for a new owner. It's been tons of fun but no use for it anymore. I am asking 8k but open to offers.

I will be posting in the For Sale section soon. PM me if interested. Cheers
