I drive the car about every two or three weeks before I cant stand not driving it. Had an appt. at the VA hosp. yesterday, 8 miles away or so. I walk with a cane so it takes a bit of effort, and time, getting in and out. When I go in the car I noticed a wasp had gotten behind the drivers side rear view mirror. Took my cane and tapped the top of the mirror..out comes a few wasp. Keeping an eye out getting back into the car after my apt, I started the car, tapped the mirror again with the cane. When the wasp came out.. lol.. I hauled azz. I THINK I left all behind but gonna get out the hose or wasp killer tomorrow. Just one of those "heads up" for others like me that don't drive the car every day and it sits outside.
Another way to nail them is tap the nest and have a shop vac at the ready and suck them up. Suck up some cat litter or sawdust to coat them too. When done, stick the end of the hose into the blower plug of the shop vac so they can't get out and even shoot a little bug spray into the hose while running.
We get wasp around here and I've done that a couple of times with great success.

wasp spray can eat shingles learned the hard way. not sure what it would do to your paint. WD40 will knock them down fast!!!!!!!
