Hello everyone! I'm Chris and I have an '84 C4. Right now I'm experiencing a problem with the rotation of the flip headlights... They were working perfectly for a long time, and all of a sudden they are both malfunctioning. Often when I pull the headlight switch they begin rotating and then stop halfway through, or do not FULLY rotate, so that one or both of the headlights are shining directly in front of the car. I've made sure that nothing is physically blocking their travel, and both headlights always begin rotating when I pull the headlight switch. What could be causing this malfunction? I'm thinking maybe the headlight relays? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.

many threads on this. do you hear your motor running a few seconds after the lights stop? can you open the hood then turn them on and open? most just replace the gears or the pucks don't think yours has the pucks. look on youtube for a fix it video fairly cheap and easy.
on older 0nes sometimes they just need to be cleaned and lubed
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I know the motor gears are fine, I've cracked them open and they are in great condition. I know that one of the symptoms of bad gears is the motor c runs and runs and the light doesn't flip. That's not the case with my lights - the motor just stops when the headlight(s) is/are halfway flipped, even with the hood up.

then check for weak relays. or bad connections or grounds
